i am using the XPS 9560 - bought in May 18 2018 .
The USB Ports & Ethernet connections go out but not the monitor . I have updated all the drivers and Bios etc... with Dell support twice
I am only powering the XPS 15 one 4K Dell monitor and a USB midi keyboard controller Alesis Q25
I found that if I unplug the TB cable from my laptop and plug it back in the Dock will stat to work properly for 5 - 20 minutes then it will go out ,,, agian !
Anyone have this issue ?
Is it the laptop Thunderbolt connection ?
I have wasted hours of troubleshooting .. to no resolve as of yet .
Anyone have any ideas it would be much appreciated
Very frustrating
What model Dock are you using with the XPS laptop? Is this the new Dell Dock WD15, with the USB-C connector?
David41754,
Click the link for information for troubleshooting and resolving issues with the TB16 Dock.
Thunderbolt dock (TB16) 10 to 15 second delay initializing connected devices
I have a very similar issue - after finally getting the laptop and dock to not blue-screen everytime I plug in the type-c connector, now the Dock's USB and Ethernet connections do not work at all. Device manager shows 2 unknown devices. So far, Dell has not been able to fix this.
Hi TKablitz,
Can you Private Message me your Service Tag (please do not post in the thread)? I would like to take a look at this, also, please include what Dock Model you're using in the PM.
Best regards,
Brad
Using a Latitude 7480 with TB16 and having the exact same issue. If a solution is found, would you please post it here.
Wasted hours of troubleshooting with no solution is proving to be a very frustrating experience.
