I purchase an Inspiron 3521 in January of 2014. In Sept I contacted Live Help. Nothing was being 'flagged' in Dell, Windows, or McAfee scans or updates and asked if anything was being overlooked. any adjustments I should make etc? I'd just recently started gaming and noticed a lag.
That day. . my system was restored to Factory Settings, Dell didn't recognize me as a customer or owner, and my ONLY chance of recovery was 258.11 for Consierge Service.
It took them 15 minutes to 'reclaim' system and another 2 days for 8.1 to be reinstalled. After many days on the phone i quit calling and waited for windows to repair itself?
Here I am, 2 months later. . many hours wasted on-line or on hold or Both, and unit STILL not running as it was BEFORE I MADE FIRST CALL. So, HOW LONG does it TAKE to recover from that first Dell Support contact?

Since this started--I've been told and have found that the 3521 NOT for GAMING. THIS ALL Could have been avoided, if that would've been known or explained at onset BY the DELL REP.
One look at the price tells all. $1,000 gets you a decent multimedia system capable of some gaming at moderate levels. For any kind of serious gaming, it's $1,500 and up for a system - somewhere around triple-quadruple the cost of the low end 3521 system.
YES and thank you for 'ranges'. Still wondering why Dell crashed my system. charged $258 to restore, in order to Establish that. Pretty sure you AREN'T the only one with this NEW data. Support should be just THAT. . . not RAPE. I was 'forced' to invest $$ in a unit that wasn't ever in ERROR. Tech that day SHOuLD have referred me over to SALES dept? That won't b happening now . .
UPON FURTHER AND DEEPER DIGGING . . .FOUND MANY POSTS ON MANY SITES WARNING OF THIS PROBLEM WITH UNIT. . . .. AND SAME EXPERIENCE WITH SUPPORT.
UNIT DOESN'T WORK, THEY CHARGE YOU 258 USD TO MESS IT UP FURTHER!
DELL IS NOTHING BUT A MONEY PIT!
