Touchpad disabled, but it still works

I have set the switch (in Settings >> Touchpad), rebooted, run diagnostics, confirmed latest drivers, confirmed all the latest Windows updates, ... all the usual suspects.  Any other ideas for how to disable the touchpad?  Really just want it disabled when I have a USB mouse attached, but as you might suspect, that didn't work either....

RE: Touchpad disabled, but it still works

Hi djj92111,

Some notebooks go with a key combination to enable / disable the touchpad, when external mouse is connected. Usually it would be <Fn> + <F5>.

Can you specify the model of your system so that we can confirm on this?

Else, you can click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.
