True color fails repeatedly, and driver re-installation doesn't help
I have an Inspiron 5548 laptop with an Intel HD Graphics 5500 display adapter. I frequently get the following message:
Error: True Color failed to apply the requested settings. Please try again. If the error continues, please re-install the application.
I do not know what application is referenced in this error message. Although the device manager said that my driver is up-to-date, I downloaded the latest driver for the HD Graphics display adapter from Dell's website and re-installed it. This has not changed the system's performance at all. I continue to get this error. I cannot see any other evidence of a problem. Just an error message. The device appears to be working properly.
