USB 3.0

Does anyone know when USB 3.0 will be available in the laptops? I can't get an answer out of anyone at Dell.

Intel will not be supporting USB 3.0 until 2011, so expect Dell's support to come after then.

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:

Motherboards with SATA 3 and USB 3.0 (i.e. Gigabyte P55 series) have only just become available for desktop systems (earlier this week here in the UK), and they carry a hefty price premium over similarly specced SATA 2/USB 2.0 boards, so it's likely to be quite some time before the new motherboards are used in anything but the highest end desktop systems, never mind in laptops :emotion-55:

jimamigo-

There are ExpressCards that allow connecting USB 3.0 devices. As these devices become available you can use them now.
