USB 3.0

Does anyone know when USB 3.0 will be available in the laptops? I can't get an answer out of anyone at Dell.

Re: USB 3.0

Intel will not be supporting USB 3.0 until 2011, so expect Dell's support to come after then.

Welcome to the forums emoticon.Yes.title

Motherboards with SATA 3 and USB 3.0 (i.e. Gigabyte P55 series) have only just become available for desktop systems (earlier this week here in the UK), and they carry a hefty price premium over similarly specced SATA 2/USB 2.0 boards, so it's likely to be quite some time before the new motherboards are used in anything but the highest end desktop systems, never mind in laptops emoticon.Idea.title

There are ExpressCards that allow connecting USB 3.0 devices. As these devices become available you can use them now.
