Upgrading memory types
Hi, I have an Inspiron 1720 and I'd like to upgrade my memory from 2GB to 4GB. I found in the website these two kinds of Memory.
Type 1: SNPY9540CK2/4G (Dell number: A1986660) and type 2: SNPY9540C/2G (Dell number: A1582298).
Is it the same to install 1 of type 1 than 2 of type 2?
Thank you
ronss

they both should work,,,i believe the type 1 is 2 memory modules with 2gb each, the second my be just one module with a size of 2gb.
this type of memory will work also-

I have absolutely nothing against Corsair RAM (I actually have 4GB XMS in one of my PC's), but I'd go with the Crucial suggestion for your laptop, if only because they "guaranteee" the RAM they advise for you, will work in Dell laptops :emotion-55:
