Using a external HDD with an e-sata connection to an Inspiron 6000 via the pcmcia.

Is it possible to connect the e-sata port of an external HDD (WD My Book) to an Insiron 6000 via the PCMCIA slot? If this is possible what do I need to do?

Yes, but you will need a PCMCIA eSATA card to allow you to plug the eSATA cable into your laptop.  Price ranges from $25 to less than $40 on Newegg, but shop around.
