VOSTRO 3360 Windows 8 (x64) - Validity Sensor issue

Hello,

I've made a clean install of Windows 8 Pro. The latest Validity Sensor driver downloaded from Dell is installed. The device is recognized in the Device Manager, though no Biometric settings is available in the control panel. I managed to create a shortcut to the missing menu by creating a folder, and renaming it to "GodMode.{0142e4d0-fb7a-11dc-ba4a-000ffe7ab428}", but the OS does not seem to recognize the device.

Any ideas?

I've managed to resolve this:

1. Remove device and driver from the Device Manager

2. Install THIS driver

3. Install Validity FMA software from HERE

After installation you'll have a Biometric devices menu in the control panel, and you can configure the device from the FMA software. My personal experience is that the sensor (PID=0011) is performing very poor: I wasn't able to scan 8 fingers from ten...

Good luck!
