Video drivers and heat issue

My Dell 1558 is not more than 3 years old and almost each part is replaced. Thanks I took 3 yrs warranty (it really helped).

Just a thought, to keep it live for some more time. Below is the laptop config:-

Dell Studio 1558, Intel® Core™ i5-430M(2.26GHz, 4 Threads, Turbo boost 2.53GHz, 3M cache) ,15.6 " Full HD(1080p), ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 – 1GB, RAM - 4.00 GB, 500GB 7200RPM HDD, 9-cell

Issues:
1. The current Video driver(13-4_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql) are quite unstable. Can anyone suggest version which works best for this model.

2. The fan is blowing a nice amount of heat and noise out now. This happened last year too. I keep it on flat surface all the time and good amount of ventilation to fan area.

Thanks in advance.

Hi muni raj,

I request you to clean the air vents with a can of compressed air. Also flash BIOS and update the video driver and that should resolve the issue and find the links below for the same:

BIOS: http://dell.to/11uUrI5

Note: While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470: http://dell.to/13xYXZJ

Restart the system after the video driver update. Let me know the status after the update.
