Vostro Notebook

I purchased this notebook for my wife to use for her online grocery orders, she is 87 years old and needed a bigger screen than the Inspiron she was using. She has osteo arthritis in her hands and I am unable to adjust the operation of the touchpad to suit her disability.  This is because when attempting to adjust the settings the window that appears is too big for the screen and the buttons for accepting and changes or for closing the window are behind the taskbar. I tried downloading "the latest" upgrade but found that it was older than what was already installed. Customer support from Dell is useless, no email support is available and I cannot understand the telephone helpline, I too am 87 years old and deaf. I have used computers since the days when they were built with transistors and had ferrite ring memories but I despair of todays whiz kids on telephone help lines.
