What devices can an Inspiron 6000 boot from

For years, I've been using an old Dell Inspiron which could boot from any of:

1. Floppy drive if a floppy disk was inserted
2. CD drive if a CD was inserted
3. Hard drive

It would try each device in the order specified by a list which could be configured in the BIOS.

I've ordered a new Inspiron 6000, and I need to know what it can boot from besides the hard drive and the CD/DVD drive. Nowadays, laptops don't offer internal floppy drives. The only available floppy drives connect via a USB 2.0 cable.

Does anyone know if the BIOS in the Inspiron 6000 is capable of booting from a USB device?

If it is, how does it determine which devices to try, and in what order?

If it can't boot from a USB device, does anyone know the complete list of devices it can boot from?

Veeeeeeeeery interesting! (As Artie Johnson used to say.) When it gets to the USB interface, do you know how it determines what order to try the USB devices in?

BTW, thanks for the speedy answer.

You set that up in the BIOS Setup.  Just like you did on your older computer.
