Windows 8.1 Inspiron 15R N5110 Radeon 7450M Driver

Hello,

I just updated to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8. However, I was unaware that 8.1 would require a different driver for my graphics card in my laptop.
I installed the regular Windows 8 drivers, and they appear to work on the surface. It lets me configure the settings and the switchable graphics in CCC, but anytime you try to use a program with the card it fails.

I was wondering if Dell is working towards making updated drivers for 8.1, and if so if there's any estimate on how long I'd have to wait, because if it's going to be a while I'd rather just wipe and go back to regular Windows 8.

Thanks

Hi dam1662,

Dell has not tested Inspiron N5110 with Windows 8.1 and the drivers are not available for the same on Dell support website, as of now.

I would suggest you to install the latest Windows 8.1 compatible drivers directly from AMD website. you may refer to the link: http://dell.to/19U4Sex.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Thanks,

Unfortunately the drivers from AMD's website are not compatible with the card in my laptop.

Do you know if 8.1 drivers are going to be put up on the Dell website at some point? or am I better just downgrading?

Thanks again.

Hi dam1662,

As your system is compatible with Windows 8, the drivers for Windows 8.1 should also be available soon. However, I am not sure if and when the updated drivers for Windows 8.1 will be available. You may install ‘Windows 8’ driver in ‘Compatibility Mode’. You may refer to the link: http://dell.to/16QTjXI.

Feel free to reply for any further assistance. I will be glad to help you.
