Windows 8.1 driver for Broadcom USH BCM5880

When I installed Windows 8.1 (from the MSDN developer site) on My Latitude E6510 it has an unknown device called Broadcom USH. A Windows 7 driver would probably work, but I don't know what that device does, so I don't know which driver to try and install. I think it's for the BCM5880 chip. What does that do?

Okay was told that should work for Windows 8 but not seen any mention of it for 8.1 yet. However it should work in both.

Now try manually updating the driver in the device manager and select C:/Dell/Drivers.

For installation of a driver via device manager see page 307 and to check the hardware IDs see page 132 in Windows Reinstallation Guide: http://philipyip.wordpress.com/dell-community-forums/

This seems to be a Windows 8 updated driver:

http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01400374M/34/CV_Drv_Setup_5DKPT_A11_32bit_ZPE.exe 32 Bit

I must have missed NATAKUC4 message in December, but I just tried it and it worked for me too. Thanks. :emotion-21:

The BCM5880 is the smart card reader. I'm not sure where to download the driver as I don't see one in the driver listing for my Latitude E6520.

Run these in compatibility mode for Windows Vista:

DELL_CONTROLPOINT-CONNECTION_A11_R207458.exe   32 bit
DELL_CONTROLPOINT-CONNECTION_A11_R207459.exe   64 bit

It should take care of the Broadcom USH issue. For more information see:

The 64-bit driver appears to install without error, although it does tell me that I must upgrade the firmware. Where can I find appropriate firmware for this driver, please? Thanks. Philip
