Windows won't boot after memory upgrade Dell inspiron 14R

Hello All.

I have a Dell inspiron 14R n4010, actually working with 4GB ( 2 x 2gb 1RX8 PC3-10600S-9-10B2 1033mhz DDR3).

I am trying to upgrade memory to 8 GB with 2 x 4gb DDR3L - 1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11  recommended by Crucial.com (crucial.com/usa/en/scanview/B8204BC231D926C3).

After upgrade memory,  Bios phoenix (version A13) recognize it.  but windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits won't boot.

I read so many post about this problem, but I can't find an answer how to solve it. I tried updating BIOS and did not work. Tried to change memory speed, but BIOS does not leave me to change settings.

Is this memory really compatible with Dell inspiron 14R n4010?  anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Thanks

Ask Crucial support if you can't get an answer here. Crucial is good for helping with problems like this when you buy memory from them. A13 is the latest bios. IMO 4GB is plenty of ram for this 5 yr old model. Replace the 4GB and use it until you can buy a new computer.

Hi GARDJ87,

Does the system work fine with the old memory installed? What happens when you try updating the BIOS?

Dell has not tested this model with 1600MHZ memory. We can assure it would work with 1333MHZ,

I have also checked on the Crucial website and the N4010 model is not listed as a system model in their tree.

Run Memtest86+ on the new RAM.

Hi TEECH,

Is the new memory detected in BIOS? Does the system complete POST?

What is the specification of the new modules purchased?
