Wireless Driver Installation says "Activate Bluetooth using wireless switch"

Hello everyone,

I have this problem of wireless in my 15R 5537. I upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 recently only to know that wireless driver was incompatible. I then visited the Dell support site and downloaded the wireless driver for the model i'm using and the OS installed. But when I tried to install it I got "Activate Bluetooth using wireless switch" error message.

I didn't know what wireless switch was since (fn+f2) was not working either. I came to know that there is wireless option in bios menu from various posts. But there was none in my laptop under "Advance" option in bios menu. I run bios version A08.

I tried to reinstall old windows 8(with a different CD this time) but wireless didn't work in this one either.

I am completely lost and don't find any relevent posts online.

Help me get through this please.

Thank You.

Hi bibek22,

Welcome to Dell community,

You must install Quickset drivers to enable the Fn keys and keyboard functions using the link : http://dell.to/1obMe7G (restart required). You can then use Fn+F2 keys to enable or disable wifi+bluetooth.

Open Device manager and list down network adaptor, check for the type of network card model installed on your computer and download the wireless drivers which include the Bluetooth drivers from our support site http://dell.to/VgwNmj . Remember to uninstall the previous drivers, restart PC and then install the latest drivers. Restart PC and let me know the results.
