XPS 13 output problem to Vizio 4k TV
I'm having no luck getting my XPS 13 running Windows 10 to output video to my Vizio 4K TV. My XPS has DisplayPort (not Thunderbolt), so I'm using an DisplayPort male to HDMI male adapter cable. I have tried every HDMI input on my TV and adjusted numerous display settings on the XPS, all to no avail. The only thing I ever see on my Vizio screen is "No signal". My XPS has integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400, driver version 20.19.15.4331. Also DirectX version 12.0.
This problem seems to be specific to my Vizio, because when I connect up the XPS to any other monitor or TV via HDMI, the video displays perfectly. The Vizio has no trouble with any other device connected to it via HDMI, such as a Blu-ray player.
Any settings or configurations I should try on the XPS and/or Vizio? I have rebooted the XPS, switched HDMI cables, and so on.

1. Find the lowest compatible PC resolution from the chart in your manual.
2. Select the lowest resolution in the chart and set the refresh rate to 60 Hz in the Display settings on your computer.
3. Try increasing the resolution setting one at a time until you reach your desired resolution.
Why can't I see the picture that is on my PC on the TV screen?
1. Ensure that you are on the correct input.
2. Ensure that the PC is set to a resolution that the TV supports.
3. Ensure that your PC does not require you to push a function key to transfer picture from the PC to the TV.
4. Ensure that your connections are secured tightly.
STEP 1
Plug one end of the HDMI or DVI cable into the computer's corresponding port. Though both are capable of displaying high-definition images, only HDMI can transfer audio as well.
STEP 2
Plug the other end into your TV's corresponding port. These will be found in the back. There will typically only be one DVI port, which is shaped like an upside-down trapezoid, but there will usually be multiple HDMI ports. Consult your owner's manual for the exact locations of the ports on your particular model.
STEP 3
Set the Vizio to the proper video channel, which should correspond with the video input you used (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, DVI, etc.).
STEP 4
Set your computer to display its images through the TV. This can be done by entering the "Graphics Options" by right-clicking on the desktop screen and highlighting and clicking "Output to" followed by "TV."

Thanks for your reply, but the steps you suggested are all pretty generic and very basic, and I've done those things already.
What exactly do you mean by "Find the lowest compatible PC resolution from the chart in your manual."? Which manual? Which chart? My Vizio TV is capable of handling anything from 480i up through 3840x2160 @ 60Hz. It has no trouble with any other video source, like a standard Blu-ray player. I have played around extensively with my Win 10 display settings and the Intel HD Graphics config, but have not found anything that works yet.
My XPS 13 is set to the default recommended display resolution of 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, which seems like such a standard that it would work with any HD-capable display device.
Do you have any specific suggestions for my problem? Like, a specific XPS 13 hardware setting or config, or something specific to the Intel HD Graphics system on my laptop? If you could provide something more than generic troubleshooting steps, I would greatly appreciate it.

DisplayPort and HDMI are not compatible (www.displayport.org/.../), so the "cable" (in fact an active protocol translator) you use plays a major rule.
Get a different active adapter which produces a signal that your TV will accept.
