Tks for that, I had tried that and this did not work, then realized that I had switched off windows automatic updates as instructed somewhere above, this prevented the device manager to check the internet..
Switched it back on which allowed the device manager to pull the driver up from the internet.
So far so good.
New Intel HD5500 Driver: 220.127.116.1100
Looks like progress (maybe!) anyone know if there is a plan to roll this driver down to older cards like the HD3000? Thanks, Peter
Can confirm, new driver fixes the problem.
Go to device manager, right-click on Intel 5500, and update driver software.
Thanks Dell, but seriously, you really took unreasonably long on this one.
I certainly hope so. But, it is actually expected that they work on first with those laptops which are still being currently sold, or else, their sales will be affected.
