Yes, the Dell XPS 14z (l412z) with the Intel i7-2640M processor can be upgraded to 16GB of usable memory. Currently running 16GB of RAM (fully recognized by BIOS and Windows OS's (7, 8.1, and 10)) in my own (old, but trusty!) system.

Reference Intel's website for the processor specs: http://intel.ly/1oZDjWB

*Note: It is not easy to install one of the two 8GB sticks of memory, however! The motherboard must be (at the very least) partially unsecured to get underneath it to access one of the two memory slots.

Official max, 8G = 4X2.

I have the Dell XPS 14z (l412z) but with the i5-2450M processor, currently 6Gb RAM. Im aware that is difficult to access to the second memory, so the one that i couldchange could be the first of 2 for one of 8 and make it up to 10 Ram?

Whats me max memory for this procesor?
