XPS 15 9530 Base Cover Screws

I've had some issues with the base cover of my newly refurbished XPS 15 9530 and need to replace some longer screws. Does anyone know what type of screws they are? All I know is they are T5 Torx head.

Greetings Heat_Fan1,

Thanks for your question.

Here's the Dell part number for the XPS 15 9530 bottom base cover screws:

19DY9 Torx SCREW,M2x3L,3.6D,0.4T,Black, Base -> Palmrest.

 PM me with your name, email and service tag if you need help obtaining these screws.

Thank you very much, Justin. That's a perfect description.

Also, how do I PM in this forum? Do we have to be "friends" first?

Dear Justin,

I have a recently bought XPS 9530 (brand new one) and have an issue with the back cover screws which needs to be replaced. Can you please assist me on how to get these screws as brand new? Thank you.

Just to confirm they are m2x3mm and you can buy replacement ones in silver from laptopscrewdirect.com, they said they will be getting black ones in by the end of march.

@PeterBarker68,

Thank you for finding this thread.

I didn't physically measure the screws myself so I couldn't tell you 100% for sure. What I can tell you is that I've dispatched them a couple times for random customers and they fit each time.

Get back if I can help any further on this.

Hi Justin,

I am also after two of the external case screws for the 9550 (guessing they are the same). Are you please able to let me know where to get them?

Thanks for your help.

Hi

you should find all the screws you require if you visit  laptopscrewsdirect.com

they sell screws for most Laptops.

Most Dell laptops use either m2.5x5mm and m2.5x8mm on the base plastics. but the xps 13 use a variety of m2x3mm ones on the base.

m2.5x5mm is used on most palmrests and motherboards and keyboards

the small standard m2x3mm on wifi cards and other fixings

m3x3mm or m3x4mm on most hard drives

they also sell multipacks which contain the main 4-5 sizes

hope this helps

if you get stuck just email them as they are very helpful.

Thanks
