XPS 15 9550 all nVidia Games fail. Intel HD ok

HI

I have realised that all games or applications when using the nvida card render a black screen and fail to load anything but sound. This includes various games using steam and their pop loaders, aswell as standalone application like the unreal4 game engine.

I have updated all drivers to the latest on dells site, I have tred the latest direct from nvidia, all fails the same way. 

I have ran the online dignostics spaceship test on video cards, and while it said the nvidia card passed, many of the tests were simply black screens! and never rendered any visual, in particular the first 2 tests shader rendertest for directx 11 and 10 were black screens only.

Is this a hardware fault?

Is the issue seen only with games? Have you tried any HD videos? What about the external monitor? Try an external monitor and check if the display comes up on the external monitor. What is the OS installed on the machine? Did the games work fine earlier? Are the games compatible with your current OS?

Restart the system and run the stress test on the system - http://dell.to/21y9GPi

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.
