XPS HDMI issue

My old XPS M1530 has a faulty monitor but the laptop still loads as normal. I have tried to hook it up to a TV using a HDMI cable but cannot get an picture onto the TV. I have tried various toggles (fn+f1/f5/f8, win+p) but nothing has worked so far. I have also tried on two different TVs.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.
