XPS L502X with geforce GT 525M supporting 2560x1400 through mini DisplayPort?

I am planning to buy Dell u2711 monitor and use it with 2560x1400 resolution. From the monitor description this resolution is supported only with DVI-D and DisplayPort, HDMI is just for fullHD. My XPS l502x with nVidia geforce GT 525M only has mini DisplayPort (except HDMI).

Could somebody confirm that I'll get 2560x1400 resolution on Dell u2711 while connected DisplayPort<->DisplayPort mini to XPS with geForce GT 525M?

From the nVidia site I've read that 2560x1400 resolution is supported via DVI-D if I am not mistaken and probably HDMI.

Dual-link DVI Support
Able to drive industry’s largest and highest resolution flat-panel displays up to 2560x1600 and with support for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)

I've read somewhere on the internet that in XPS mini DisplayPort is dedicated for the Intel Integrated Graphic card ;/ and HDMI for nVidia card. I don't know how much truth is in it.

The answer is late as I just saw your question! Anyway!

Indeed, in the Dell XPS L502X has two Video outpout ports :

- HDMI : Linked to the Nvidia GT525M (Capable of driving 2560 X 1600)

- Mini DisplayPort:  Linked to the Intel HD 3000 (Capable of driving 2560 X 1600)
