XPS M1530 Resets to creation time/date every time it turns off (hibernates/sleeps) but does not power off.

The past couple days if the computer goes into a standby mode it will not easily turn back on. The power indication led on the front notes that it is indeed on, but the screen is off. When trying to manually press the power button, plug in the power cord, unplug the power cord, or remove the battery does nothing to its status. When (at some odd unknown point in time) it resets and decides to turn on it resets the settings for the time and date to its creation point. Prior to windows it gives an error noting the time/date are incorrect and it walks you through the DOS (if thats what one still calls it) setup screen to manual reset these elements. But so far you can reset it for the one cycle and it works fine, until it powers down.

Any thoughts?

Replace the bios battery, usually a CR2032 coin cell battery that you can get almost anywhere for $3. Check your manual online for directions on how to install.

Edit: Here is the manual for replacing the cr2032: SERVICE MANUAL
