XPS M1730 - How do you turn off the backlight?

Is there a way to turn off the light on the lid? I know how to turn off the keyboard, but I can't seem to find any information on how to turn off the lid.

Thanks!

When booting, press F2 to enter bios (setup).. theres options in there to turn off all the lights..

Just be careful not to change stuff you are not sure of, only change the light settings ;)

Good Luck!

edit* or if you are using Quickset, you can most likely turn it off from there also

Go into the BIOS setup by pressing F2 while the Dell Splash screen is starting (when you first turn it on)

Go into the 'Onboard Devices' section

Go down to the 'Panel LED'

Press to change the option to NO

Press

Choose 'Save/Exit' option

Done

If you're not happy messing about in the BIOS, you can do it using QuickSet.

Open QuickSet > System > Gaming Options, and you'll see a tick box in the top right which is ticked by default.

Untick it to turn off the 'Back panel wings and badge LED's'.

There's another tick box in the lower right of that same screen, which allows you to 'Turn off all LED's' ;)
