XPS Studio 16 (1640), Windows 7, and Quickset
I've upgraded my Studio XPS 16 to Windows 7 thought my MSDN account and love it. However, now the eject button on the top of the keyboard does not work. Looks like you have to have the Dell Quickset program installed. But if you install the Quickset that is listed for Windows 7 64 bit, the Aero feature of Windows 7 Ultimate is not allowed to run. Anyone else run into this issue?
I'm guessing after 22 OCT, there might be some additional input.

Nevermind....found the solution. Thought I'd already performed these steps...but probably in the correct order.
- Upgrade your Optical Drive firmware to the Windows 7 version (I didn't restart immediately like it said to)
- Install the Quickset version for your WIN7 (32/64).
Rebooted and it worked for me.

I never had any issues upgrading my 1640 to win 7. Upgrading firmware on optical drives is not something to attempt lightly. You can render the drive useless with a bad or incorrect firmware upgrade.
