XPS m1530 and the sims 2
Hi!
My girlfriend wants to buy a new laptop and the only game she wants to play is The sims 2. I was thinking one with ( T5750 2.00 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache) and (NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256 MB).
Now does anyone know if this would run the sims 2 flawless, meaning no lagg at all :P. She is gonna kill me if it's not. I know it should meet the minimum requirments but still, the game is actually pretty demanding for such an old game.
Anyone who got this installed on a m1530? Would be great with some feedback :)
Thanks!

Oh man, just installed my copy the other day with my expansions and it runs real hott! :smileyhappy: I don't even have the 8600M GT (have the 8400M GS =[ ) and it runs all the way at high settings with no lag whatsoever.
So yea, Flawless. :smileywink:

However, as games get more detailed they require better technology. jumping down to the 8400 may do you more harm should the sims improve their graphics. I play The Guild 2, which is like the sims but takes place in the 1400's Europa. And now I see that going higher in speed would have been better even though I meet the minimum requirements.
If you can, find out if the sims are making a change for the better, you might want to look into 2.4 or 2.5 Ghz.
by the way, when I first started playing the sims, there was always talk of Simsville but it had been pushed back and back and back. Did it ever come out?
