XPS15Z overheat issue

Hello,

I just received my XPS15z last month , service tag CMHNDT1 (just in case) I was playing Command & Conquer (on medium graphics settings) to test out my graphics last night and noticed it heated up really bad to wear it could almost burn my skin, after those 15 min of really hot usage it auto shutoff. I see some people say it might be a HDD issue but i am running a 256 SSD. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi adrian.gonzalez,

Welcome to the community

We apologize for the issues you have on the new system, A few steps may be performed to have the issue fixed.

1. Try cleaning the airvents on the laptop

2. Please donwload the file from the link http://dell.to/HTOb63. Request you to install this application called BIOS. During the installation

Please do connect the charger for the laptop and during the update process do not use the system untill the system restarts completely

This should fix the issue on the system.

Hi adrian.gonzalez,

Since the previous steps couldn't fix the issue the only option we have now is to replace the parts on the XPS laptop. Please accept the friend request and please provide below mentioned details for me to go ahead and setup a dispatch.

1. complete Physical address with Buzz code(if any) to which the technician has to be sent for replacing parts

2. Primary and Alternate contact number for the technician to reach you for an appointment

3. Any other issues on the system apart from heating

Please provide all these details in a private message.

Please revert for any clarifications

Thanks & Regards
