Hi I've tried the ASMedia driver from ASUS but I still has the same issues of the lost of USB devices after sleep (the same as under ASMedia from Dell or default Microsoft drivers). I have a mouse plugged into it and every time I wake up the laptop (XPS 15 9550) from sleep it stops working. Nothing other than re-plugging the dock can help. Have you ever had this problem?

As you can read here http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19677048/20914573#20914573 I have similar problems with the WD15.

Asmedia driver didn't help me at all, and I still get random disconnects with a desk fan blowing across the TB15.
Over the last month I've been working with a Dell engineer (he was calling me daily at one point), and though their workarounds weren't completely successful, some did help allot.
- use ethernet port on TB15 and put laptop (XPS 9550) into airplane mode - this had the most impact for me, dropped me down to 1 or 2 disconnections a day (obviously won't help those who require WiFi).
- put TB15 at max distance from laptop (already was so didn't help).
- keep other wireless devices away from the laptop and TB15 (didn't notice any benefit to this).
So the laptop in airplane mode seems to give me the most stable experience. But the random disconnect was too annoying when I'm coding so currently only using the TB15 for multi-moniter (laptop in airplane mode, which seems very stable) and using USB LAN and a USB hub for everything else.
One thing the engineer did say was they believe they know what the issue is and have a working solution, but he wouldn't tell me if it was isolated to the TB15 or whether the laptop would also need a mb replacement (i.e. I think the thunderbolt controller maybe getting major interference from WiFi/BT, hence the reason airplane mode seems to work so good for me).
Wouldn't give me a hard ETA either but said possibly around mid-late June (from couple of weeks ago). But we're *close to* mid-June already now so who knows. Guessing it will be more like July...

I just really want a solution that works. USB dropping and monitors turning off randomly is so annoying for something that I paid this much for, it's hard to believe actually...

Im sorry for hijacking the thread, but I have to give some critic to the forum.. it is IMPOSSIBLE(!) to start a new thread.
Clicking "new post" wont do a thing. Is it even a function? Who knows.
Im going to by a new Dell laptop as my previous machine did so well.
Dell laptops are the best, no frills, simple computing options available etc.
I am like most other people who need a basic model to do simple computing and need to watch their costs as they purchase computers.
I usually check Technemag for new reviews and Dell are most of the times on top, wether it is a gaming laptop or for general use. More specific the Dell Inspiron 17 5755. Can anyone who owns this beauty reply and give your feedback?
Thanks in advance, as always :)

I had a good experience with prior Dell computers.
However, the current generation XPS15 (9550) that I purchased has been a piece of junk. Please read the many, many problems with TB15 and WD15 docks. I bought computer to use with dock. Neither works. Have spent much more time than any of this is worth.
Will try Lenovo next. This Dell has been junk.

Finally got my Dell XPS 15 9550 working with 3x 1080p monitors, all usb ports, and ethernet by putting my laptop in airplane mode. It works with the lid shut but not open! Can't really decide if I should return these docks yet or not

I have been having the same monitor/USB issues you all have discussed since receiving the TB15 at the beginning of the year. The best fix has been to run the laptop in airplane mode as DKRECK suggested. I have not had a monitor drop out since doing this. And I have never had an issue with the wired ethernet. Of course I then needed to purchase an audio cable to run my bluetooth speaker but otherwise, this seems to have fixed my problems for the last couple days. I run (2) 1080p monitors with the laptop monitor open. Have not tried using the USB receiver for my mouse/keyboard plugged into the dock yet but will likely try it tomorrow. The receiver is so small I leave it plugged into the computer always. Will report back on the USB tomorrow.

OK, back to report a dismal failure plugging the mouse/keyboard RF receiver into the dock while in airplane mode. The monitors were stable but the USB dropped out after about an hour and took the wired ethernet out with it. I've never had issues with the wired ethernet.
So, plug the USB receiver back into the laptop, reboot, and all's well again. Usable but not right. Come on Dell; fix this thing.

If it helps anyone with their decision on this I am testing the Dell XPS 15 9550 with a Plugable USB-C dock and am experience the same problems! I can get it to work fairly well by putting the laptop in airplane mode but even then the keyboard/mouse sometimes cuts out as well as the monitors... seems to be the computer not the docking station.

I spent tons of time trying the TB15. Gave up. Now using the WD15. Poor experience. Same problems listed in spades throughout this thread: keyboard/mouse; Ethernet; monitors.
I tried to return the XPS15 (9550), but am told that I had it too long (about 2 months). It took that long to do all the troubleshooting.
I won't buy Dell again. Would anyone with the problems that we have all had?

We had the exact same problems. We already got a replacement dock a month ago, it worked fine for a month or so and then suddenly we experienced the same problems again.
We decided to return all TB15 docks to Dell to get a refund.
We switched to the Dell USB 3.0 D3100 Dock and everything is working great now! We can use WIFI and Ethernet together and no screen disconnects anymore. We should have done this a lot sooner.
Only disadvantage is you need an AC adapter together with the dock to charge your laptop.

Don't take this as an endorsement, as I'm sure Dell doesn't suggest this, but I've been able to use the TB15 with a 240W adapter without a second adapter direct to my 7510 and it has been working great. I love being able to use just the single cable which is much easier to disconnect for charging my laptop. I haven't gone crazy with multiple monitors yet, but it has worked with a USB drive and with the headset port, though occasionally I need to disconnect and reconnect a couple times to get it to work.

I received the following from Dell today:
"Good morning,
I am reaching out in order to provide you with an update on the thunderbolt docking station. Dell engineering has determined that this issue will be resolved with both a hardware and software solution. At this time engineering is pushing to have the hardware solution available for shipment at the end of August. This is subject to change due to any new developments over the upcoming weeks. I will continue to monitor the status of the engineering investigation and will provide you with updates at least once a week."
So there is the answer. A new dock. I just hope they stick to their word and send replacements at no cost.
