booting problem

i have 2 days old dell inspiron 15r 5521 laptop .. 

it has boot problem 

when i start my laptop it shows 

no boot device found.pressny key to reboot 

if its reboot it shows 

checking media 

checking media fail

checking media fail 

then its shows dell automatic repair start 

then its shows ur pc needs to b repair 

its shows error 0xc0000185

pls help me

Hi riddhesh002

I would suggest you to check both the system in Safe Mode with Networking, follow the below mentioned steps:

  • Restart the computer.
  • Tap during startup until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears.
  • Press until Safe Mode with Networking is highlighted, and then press .

In the issue still persist in safe mode as well would request you to run dell diagnostics Turn on the system, press at the initial Dell logo screen, and select Diagnostics from the boot menu.

Thanks for the reply. 

The issue could be either with the HDD or the HDD cable. I would recommend u to reseat the hard drive and hard drive cable as well, I am providing you a link for that:

If the issue persist, I would suggest you to reset BIOS to default, follow the below mentioned steps: 

1)     Reboot the computer.
2)     When prompted during POST, press the key to enter the setup screen.
3)     On the System Setup screen, press the key.
4)     Press the key on Yes to Load Optimized Defaults and restart the computer. 

Please revert with the results.

I have hdd failing problem .. My laptop is just three days old ..should I replace it ?

Call and have the system replaced - you can do that within 21 days of shipment.

Where do I call ? In the shop from where I purchased this laptop or direct to dell ?
