connectivity of the studio 1735

hello everybody, I just wanted to know if my dell studio 1735 had an USB 3.0 entry? I want to buy an external hard drive and I need this information.

I hope you can help me, thank you.

Nicolas.

No.  The system is too old to have USB 3.0 -- it's USB 2.0.

I tried to put in a usb 3.0 expresscard but it doesn't fit. I checked the manual and specs and sizes match the manual. The card goes in but doesn't click. Can you recommend a USB 3.0 expresscard to put into my Studio 1735? Thanks.

Hi ocerzon,

Please share the model number of the ExpressCard that you have purchased and trying to install on your computer.

The Studio 1735 uses both the 34 mm and 54 mm ExpressCards. (Both sizes are smaller than conventional PC Cards.) The ExpressCard slot is wide enough to accommodate either of these cards. You may press the latch and remove the card installed on computer. For more information on this, you may refer to the manual: http://bit.ly/ZzvGIv

Here are few options for USB 3.0 ExpressCards, that you may check: http://amzn.to/Zzw9KL

Parts and part# may vary depending on your region.

Please share the findings.
