dell n5040 booting with black screen..hdd failure??
so my dell n5040 boots with black screen.i can boot with dvd,*** it wont boot with normal boot.tried f8=last known good configuration WITH NO LUCK..Ihavent done reformat or reinstalled windows yet..i cant do online diagnostics,cuse windows wont boot.i guess my hdd failed or soon to be fail..

i think there might be issues of bad sector in hdd so if it still under warranty then ask for replacement :)

It could well be. What happens when you let the hard drive test complete (it's in progress in your last screenshot)?

it refuses to continue,even if click on yes....it just completes test at 100%.also cant reformat and install stuck at 0%...however windows still showing how much space is used and how much free

not sure about warranty...its somekind thosiba hdd in there.andbit was replaced for sure over 3 years ago
