eSata port slow transfer rate...

I've got a Studio 1555, 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, with the P8700 CPU & 8 GB of ram.

My problem is with the combo USB/eSata port.
I have an Azio docking station & am trying to  copy a couple hundred GBs of music from a sata drive to the laptop.

I am using the eSata connection & my speed is a whopping 29.8MB/Second!

Why so slow & how can I speed it up?

I too have the same issue

Dell Precision Workstation M4600 with E/Port Plus 210W Port Replicator with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 SP1.  When connecting a esata hard drive to the esata port on the port replicator transfer rates from a USB 3.0 device average around 30MBps.  When copying the same files from the USB 3.0 device to the local C: drive the transfer rates average about 130MBps.

Is the eSATA port translated through USB 2.0 chipsets causing the speeds to drop?
