flickering screen

hello. I have a dell inspirion 13 7000 series and have been experiencing A LOT OF FLICKERING.

I looked at previous post and attempted to change my battery saving options, doing some kind of screen test, and more. It's starting to get really frustrating when I have a lot of reading and work to do for school.

If I can get any advice it would be great, if not I am going to a tech center at school or geek squad at best buy.

Please list Dell model number and version of windows. Example: Dell Inspiron 7368, windows 10

In the meantime, I believe the "flickering" might be happening because of a corrupt (Video) driver, therefore I'd suggest you update the driver in device manager.

In device manager, stroll down to Display Adapters and then expand it. Right click driver and then update it.

Hi ANJELLYCAG13,

What is the exact system model? What is the current OS installed on the system? When did the issue start? Does this happen with or without the adapter connected? Are you using an original Dell OEM Adapter? Is the adapter frayed? Is there any damage on the system? Could you test with another power adapter if possible?

What applications are you using when the screen flickers?

Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/1n3X2po - enter the service tag and download the BIOS, update and restart the machine and check. Also, reinstall the video drivers from the support site.

Connect an external monitor and check if the screen flickers on both the displays.

Also, check for screen flickering in the following tests:

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

Run the LCD bist - Turn off the system and press and hold the "D" key + power button to turn on the system and it should run the LCD built in self test - see this link for more info - http://dell.to/1SkXNrG

Restart the system and press f2 on startup to enter BIOS and check if the display flickers while in BIOS environment.

If the system is under warranty, Please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name, Phone#, Address and Email). If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ
