how to change Optimus pre-configured profiles ?

Apparently some pre-configured applications settings listed in 3D Settings/Program Settings can't be changed by the user.
Notably, Windows Media Player & Windows Media Center. These two are "hard-coded" to play wmv and mpeg-2 video with the IGP, not the GPU. Even right-clicking and "forcing" the GPU when launching these apps ("run with graphics processor") has no effect.

However, I found that some videos, like VC-1 (aka wmv 9 Advanced Profile) don't play nicely with the IGP, while they play flawlessly with the GPU; presumably the IGP does not support all wmv profiles & advanced features; also, the texture and overall quality of mpeg-2 TS (from DVB-T e.g.) looks much better using the GPU than the IGP.
Since the profiles for these apps seem "locked", the only way to force GPU decoding for these videos is to use an external display via Displayport or HDMI.

Question: is there a way to force GPU decoding for WMP and WMC, also when using the internal display ? Any documented way (or hack :emotion-5: to tune these presets ?
