inspiron 15 7000 series 7559 - screen is garbled when tilted more than 90 degrees

This weird problem has cropped up one morning. Whenever I put the screen at more than 90 degrees, the screen flashes green and pink and is garbled. More than that it is black (backlight still on), and less than that it works as intended. See video for example

The problem happens at booutp and in bios, but the self test dignostic reports the video card as working fine. Since this only happens when the screen is angled, my bet was on a loose video cable, but re-seating it did not fix the problem sadly.

I did not drop or bump the computer, I just started it one morning and it was doing that. It is also only a month old, so it is under warranty I guess.

Anyone has had a similar issue? Could th problem arise from a loose connection from inside the screen (which is beyond my ability to fix sadly)?
