latitude e6440 lvds/edp question
A question for the LCD/engineering experts:
Under Intel Graphics Control Panel, it shows that my laptop display is an eDP device. However, I found out that my LCD is a LP140WH2-TLTB display which is an LVDS device. Looking at the LCD cable does show 40 pins which is consistent with LVDS rather than eDP. I was just wondering why the control panel would show eDP. Is it that Dell setup the notebook to run LVDS over eDP?

The display is LVDS as you note. Intel has some information here

There are some systems out there that have started to use eDP (Lenovo's X240t convertible is one of them). It's possible the Intel driver can't distinguish the two.
