8G is supported, but Value RAM (KVR) is not a good choice -- it's cheap but you get what you pay for.

Have u checked the specs and see if u can use 8gb.

Sometimes there is a max amount u can use, I know from experience.

If u can use that much make sure they are seated properly and then restart and it should pick up the new amount of memory.

I know when i put new memory in my hp i had no problem with it sorry dell users.

Check if its 1333Mhz or 1600Mhz. You can also check your specification for your model online. Usually Intel I3 have memory controller supports 1333Mhz. Some may not have the capability to automatically clock down 1600Mhz to 1333Mhz. I had the same issue in the past. But didnt find a resolution then as I was not aware of these details

Hi there... Your problem could be coz the OS.. If you are using Windows 7 32 bit...it would not support 8GB.. If its 64 bit..then yes it shud support 8GB and there is some other issue...

Thanks

Hello.  I also bought one 4GB SODIMM of Kingston KVR13S9S8/4 RAM.  It should be compatible with the N4010 as previously confirmed ( 1333MHz PC3-10600 DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 204 pin).  However, it WILL NOT WORK in the N4010.  I have replaced one 2GB original DIMM with the new 4GB so I should have a 6GB system.  I have swapped the placement of the 2GB and 4GB DIMMs.  I have the latest drivers and BIOS.  I have windows 7 and a 64-bit system.

So it appears to me that there is a MAJOR problem with this system in that it is supposed to support more than 4GB but does not.  There are lots of forum entries expressing the same problem and NONE of them include a successful resolution.

Value RAM is the problem - not the system.

This is the correct memory for your system if you want to go with Kingston:
