mini display port in XPS 12

Is the mini display port that comes standard on the XPS 12 convertible proprietary or can I buy any generic mni display to VGA adapter to connect to my VGA external display?

Hi shancock60,

Your system has a mini display port on the right side. Below is the picture:

Chassis Right View
1	Right Speaker — Onboard audio output.
2	Battery Charge Gauge — Indicates battery charge level.
3	Battery Gauge Button — Press to display the battery charge level.
4	USB 3.0 port with PowerShare and Windows Debug— Used to connect external SATA hard drives or USB devices.
5	USB 3.0 port — Used to connect USB devices, such as flash memory, a mouse, keyboard or printer.
6	Mini-DisplayPort — Used to connect DisplayPort devices.
7	AC adapter connector — Used to connect an AC adapter to the laptop.
