n7110 black screen when I log in

i keep getting black screen after logging in.  can see mouse but that is it.  able to launch and see task manager by hitting ctrl-alt-del.  Did factory restore and issue appeared only after all updates applied including optional intel update.  question is how can i install drivers from usb drive when I cannot see any windows or command prompt.  Do i have to do factory reset again and install driver and ignore intel update.

Hi jestabrook,

Welcome to the Community,

Try connecting an external monitor. If you get display on external monitor, than you can try uninstalling the driver using the display on the external monitor.

If its the same on external monitor than you may have to reinstall Windows and install the drivers in the order given in the link below :

Hope this helps,

Thank You

jestabrook,

If you used system restore to go back to an earlier restore point, usually during this process, I have seen a blank(black) scrfeen for up to 5 minutes before you see everything come back on the screen. After that, it returns to the normal load time.
