n7110 laptop. rj45 connector weak. cat5 keeps coming unplugged.

I can't find a way to replace the NIC. is this even possible? if so where to find one? i tried searching and can't find it

It isn't possible short of replacing the mainboard.  Or, use a USB Ethernet adapter. However, if it's the catch on the port itself, that's likely part of the system base - which would need to be replaced.

The can be a situation where the plastic tab on the Ethernet plug is not setting high enough to fully engage the plug.  If that were to be the case, trying another cable might help or warming the plug and gently raising the tab just a little while it cools.

I've tried other cables, this has been happening for 5 years. I haven't used this much in those years. heck the thing is MINT.

I was going to replace the keyboard with a backlit, I ordered a new fan because this one is getting noisy. i put an SSD in a few years ago.

But this thing could last a long time still if I can get it se up right.

I'll try what you mention, this isnt a new issue.
