How do I get camera to work on XPS 12 ultrabook?

Hi jabudaoud,

I would like you to check the webcam through Skype or any other camera software. If the webcam is not getting recognized in the Skype or webcam software, please follow the steps mentioned below for refreshing the drivers for webcam.

  1. Open the charms bar by moving the mouse to right top corner of the screen and inthe search box, type ‘Device Manager’, and then, in the list of results, click ‘Device Manager’.
  2. When the device manager pops up, in the list please check for ‘Imaging devices’.
  3. Under ‘Imaging devices’ check if you are finding webcam.
  4. Right click on the webcam available and click on ‘Uninstall’.
  5. Do not check the box which says delete the software and click ‘OK’.
  6. Restart the system and check for issue resolution.

Please let us know if this helps.

SKYPE CAN use my camera
The "Camera" app on the home page opens a black screen labelled Camera
and says that this app needs permission to use your camera.
