"The driver being installed not validated....obtain from manufacturer."

In attempting to update my video cards on my Latitude D610, Mobile Intel® 915GM /GMS,910GML Express Chipset, for the service pack win2k_xp142550 from (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProductID=1862&DwnldID=12539&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Professional&lang=eng)

I recieve the message listed in the title, "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer""

Cause?

Ideas for a Remedy?

On this thread you will find postings that explain how to unpack and install the Intel driver that has not been validated by Dell. If it doesn't improve performance you can revert to your current video driver.

you need to uninstall the old driver first and then install the intel driver. If you're not happy with it get the old one back from dell.
