"dell support"

I have recently restored my laptop 1520 back to factory setup. I have now installed all microsoft updates. So was going to start doing the dell updates.

When i click on "dell support" and click "check my computer now" i keep getting the message "dell was unable to complete the update process. this may have occurred because your computer is not connected to the internet. Please check your internet connection and click retry"?

I am connected wireless with 13mb download speeds.

Any ideas?

It sounds like when you "restored" your PC to "factory setup", somehow your Restore either Wiped Out or Messed Up the Small Partition on your hard-drive, which comes from Dell, with Special "Tools" for addressing problems.

See if you can get a "Factory Restore" disc from Dell, maybe a download, to replace the missing "Tools".
