random shut down, battery and charger fail, inspiron 5010

I have a had a number of problems and it would been helpful if anyone had any suggestions, First I experienced random shutdowns until all I had was a blue screen. I reinstalled windows and although I have had one shutdown since everything is OK (sort of). Then my battery charger stopped working- so I bought a new one (silly move) it worked for about a week and when I plug the charger into the computer the power to the charger shuts off. To compound things I emailed DELL prior to my warranty ending saying that I wanted to extend it...needless to say they didn't answer because I had spoken to them about the blue screen issue.

At this stage - if anyone has anyideas about how I can get power to my computer I would really apreciate it

PS I have tried al of the tips provided by DELL on the forum today...they didn't wok - including taking the battery out and plugging in direct
