upgrade old laptop

hi everyone,

 I'm trying to upgrade my old laptop Inspiron 1200 hard drive. But i'm not sure if this is the right one to get. please help me out.

 

500GB SATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive 16MB 7200 RPM 3.5IN Caviar Blue

If you're replacing the existing drive, be sure you transfer the blade adapter from the back of the original drive to the new drive.  If you don't have the original drive, you will need to purchase one of these adapters.

No.  The drive must be parallel ATA (NOT SATA) and 120G or smaller (the BIOS has a limit of 120G).

Additionally, it appears you are looking at a desktop drive.  The laptop drives are 2.5", 9.5 mm.

You should edit your post to remove your service tag number.  Otherwise this thread will be removed when the TOS team finds it as posting of personally identifying info violates the forum rules.
