This may be due to my ignorance. I upgraded to a dell Inspiron 15 (not touch screen). The Laptop only has HDMI port so I bought an HDMI cable and connected to the the ViewSonic n2230w. This external screen has been working with no issue using the VGA cable (in my previous laptops).
I have change the setting d-SUB to HDMI with no luck.
Would someone be able to help me troubleshoot? I think I downloaded the right drivers although they did not specifically say windows 8.1.
I will go and see if I can buy an VGA to HDMI converter.
