HDMI does not show in device manager, and cannot be used. Any ideas. Latitude e6430

It is part of the GPU. Not a separate hardware item. Have you tested it like this?
Latitude e6430 mini HDMI out port --> mini HDMI to HDMI cable --> external monitor HDMI in port
Then go into the Display properties and extend the windows desktop to the external monitor.
