No video after vacuum of heat sink for Inspiron 5100

I removed the heat sink and vacuum it for dust due to the periodic shut down issue.  After I reassembled it and powered it on, the laptop is running but no video on the screen.  I made sure all the cables are connected securely already.

I followed this guide to remove the heat sink

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks

Probably did not attach screen connector properly or damaged it when plugging it back in. Check your service manual for the real instructions. It's not a good idea to follow self help posts by amateurs. As noted on that page, some steps are missing. Try using an external monitor.

Laptops are not easily taken apart and reassembled. Run the diagnostics before doing anything.

When plugging an external monitor hit FN F8 to toggle between the screens you toggle between LCD only/Monitor only/ and both on. I agree you may not have connected the lcd properly.
