SERVICE tag RECOVER
hi,
is there any way to recover the service tag, if it is not in BIOS and not on the labels on the bottom?

Is it on the original paperwork? The service tag is basically the same as a serial number. Are you saying these tags have been removed from the bottom of the unit?

no there is no paperwork, yes these tags have been removed, i want to be sure that the device is not stolen!! but i need the service tag

Hmm.. seems like a valid concern. The service tag only exists in the BIOS (and could be removed) and on the paper sticker on the bottom of the unit (also can be removed). If someone has gone to the trouble of removing both of those items I'm afraid you have a "blank". Basically the same as anything else with a ground-off serial number.
Did it come from a questionable source?
